Senior Management
of SearchFirst
After
founding the Atlantis Company, a major security management services
firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Brian purchased Corporate
Information Services and another firm also engaged in security
background information. He merged these two firms to form
SearchFirst Information Services, doubling their capacity, and took
the new firm national. Prior to Atlantis and SearchFirst, Brian
served
for many years as president of a large security company
headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. He has a Masters Degree in
Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal
Justice from Baldwin Wallace College. He has served as Chair of the
local chapter of the American Society for Industrial Security and is
a current member of ASIS International. In addition, he has
served or is serving in
security capacities as a state task force member, college
instructor, security director, and operations director (many and
various private and public groups, security task forces, and
organizations).

Thomas
Lekan, C.P.P. Senior Vice President, Investigations,
Due Diligence Investigations, & Security Consulting
Tom is a locally and nationally recognized security practitioner,
enjoying a sterling reputation that he has well earned. He has the
distinction of being a
Certified Protection Professional, board certified by the American
Society for Industrial Security, ASIS International.
Tom is the primary security consultant
delivering high level security consulting services from SearchFirst
to organizations around the U.S. He is a leading security
practitioner and consultant who is locally and nationally known in
the professional security field. Tom appears with some regularity on
radio shows, in trade magazines, and in newspapers – featured in
U.S.A. Today, for example. In addition, he teaches college
courses and lectures on security and safety issues, economic crime
management, crisis response, and many other topics.
Drawing upon his in-depth experience as Director of Security
& Safety for all of the Nestle Corporation operations,
Chief Security Officer for KeyBank, N.A., and as
Security Consultant for Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations,
he delivers high quality consulting and results. At KeyBank, Tom
developed and managed an investigative and security staff of 150
providing services in this 25,000 employee organization with over
1,000 locations, responsible for all critical investigative and
security functions.

Kay McKenzie Senior
Business Manager
Kay is the central figure in SearchFirst, responsible for all
ongoing operations, and is a very savvy, hands-on manager,
specializing in pre employment and background checking for many
years.

The NAPBS Mission
Statement
The National Association of
Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) exists to promote ethical
business practices, promote compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting
Act and foster awareness of issues related to consumer protection and
privacy rights within the background screening industry.
The Association provides relevant programs and training aimed at
empowering members to better serve clients and to maintain standards of
excellence in the background screening industry.
The Association is active in public affairs and provides a unified voice
on behalf of members to local, state and national lawmakers about issues
impacting the background screening industry.

What's the role of technology
in working with SearchFirst?
We use
technology to serve our clients, while we are not bound by it. Our first
focus is on quality searches, quality information, and delivery to our
clients using methods that are legal and in compliance with all laws,
rules, and regulations, to the advantage of our clients. We use the
technologies that assist us to do just that.
Simple-to-Use, Web-Based Service
SearchFirst provides clients a simple, secure, online
service for requesting background checks, viewing reports, and accessing
completed reports. The web-based service offers the convenience of
entering search requests, viewing reports, and accessing information
24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection. Built on an extensible
technology platform to satisfy the changing requirements of hiring
departments of all sizes, the simple-to-use order entry screens enable
hiring personnel to easily enter, track, and receive background
services. Companies nationwide, from small businesses to Fortune 500’s
with hundreds of users, access SearchFirst's web-based service.
Customer-Specific, Customized Packages
By providing management with the ability to predefine
custom packages, order placing at the branch/store level is both
streamlined and standardized. Management can determine which services
are included in each package and the name of each package. If more
flexibility is desired at the branch level, management can simply
determine which services they would like listed in a menu format for
users to select from on an order by order basis. At any time a user may
add any additional service from the services section.
Control
SearchFirst systems are enabled with a highly flexible
security system.
Corporate Users - Branch Users
Corporate Users can place orders and view results for
multiple branches depending on individual access rights. Branch Users can only place orders and view results for
their own branch.
Notifications:
Order Confirmation
Once the user places the orders, the system will generate
an immediate, real-time order confirmation e-mail notification which
indicates to the user that SearchFirst has started processing the order.
Completion Notification
When an order gets completed, the system generates an
order completion notification. This alerts the user that they can login
to the web interface and check the inbox for the newly completed order.
